Bitget POL Withdrawal Fees: ERC20 vs Polygon (2026)
POL (formerly MATIC, Polygon’s native token) is one of the more extreme examples on this site of network choice mattering. Pick the wrong one and you’re paying many times more than you need to.
| Network | Withdrawal fee |
|---|---|
| PolygonCheapest | 0.2 POL |
| ERC20Priciest | 8.324662 POL |
Why the gap is so large
Polygon is POL settling directly on its home chain — the network it was built for, where transactions are cheap by design. ERC20 means withdrawing POL as an ERC20 token on Ethereum’s base layer instead, where you’re paying Ethereum gas prices for a token that has nothing to do with Ethereum’s own economics.
Right now that difference works out to roughly 42× — withdrawing over Ethereum costs about 42 times what the Polygon network charges for the exact same token.
What to check before you withdraw
The catch is the same as anywhere else on this site: cheaper only helps if your destination actually accepts it. Not every wallet or exchange has a POL-on-Polygon deposit address set up — some only support the ERC20 version. Confirm which one your destination expects before you withdraw, not after.
